Summer Club Team WhatsApp Code Of Conduct
The following WhatsApp guidelines ensure every official St Michael’s WhatsApp group meets our legal
requirements.
The Summer Club Leaders WhatsApp group has been created specifically to communicate St Michael’s
Summer Club related information.
The group will be managed by Jacob Clothier and will adhere to the guidelines below.
Official WhatsApp group guidelines
This is an interactive WhatsApp group; a standard group, where members can comment and ask
questions.
The admin has the right to remove people from the group immediately if they are sending messages
or material which could cause offence or distress.
You have right to leave the group at any time.
Members of the group cannot share other members’ contact details outside the group. If this
happens, the admin has the right to immediately exclude anyone who does this.
Members cannot use the phone numbers of others in any other way without express permission.
Only the admin can add people to the group. If you think someone else should be part of this group,
please let the admin know.
The group will be shut down when it is no longer needed, which will be determined by the admin or
another member of the church leadership team. The admin will provide members a 2-day notice
period before closing the group.
Please do not use the WhatsApp group before 8am or after 10pm. If there is an emergency outside
these hours, please contact one of the Summer Club Core Leaders.
Additional guidelines for including under 18s
In addition to the above: we will only communicate with young people where 2 or more adults (over
18) who are DBS checked leaders, are present in the group.
Parent/guardian consent will be obtained before adding a young person to a group. We make use of
WhatsApp group links only sending them to the parents/carers so they must give access to the link
for a young person to be able to join.
