‘A Bully-Free Zone’

Rock Solid is open as usual, and we'll continuing with our new-style talks. You'll be able to choose from ‘Pin Your Ears Back’ (a talk), ‘On The Go’ (games and stuff) or ‘Meeting Of The Minds’ (discussion) as we take a look at the theme of ‘bullying‘.

As well as that, there will be all the usuals on offer ... football, games, tuck-shop, arts & crafts, chillout space and everything you've come to expect from your favourite youth club! There will also be information about the forthcoming LaserQuest trip ... so you're going to want to be there!

Rock Solid Socials 2008

The remaining socials this year will be LaserQuest on Thursday 22 May and the end of year Big Day Out on Saturday 26 July.

Nick

Nick is a Rock Solid leader. By day he works for the Railway, by night he is a web-designer. Nick likes his long hair, and spending time with his wife, Debbie, below.

Debbie

Debbie co-leads Rock Solid with Nick, Cath and Kelly. She works for an educational publisher, and also speaks French. Debbie likes spotting grammatical mistakes and watching Friends.

Kelly

Kelly is a member of the Rock Solid leadership team along with Cath, Nick and Debbie. She lives in Stoke Gifford with her family, and in her spare time loves hanging out with her boyfriend, Chris (but not the one below!)

Ant

Ant is the full-time Youth Minister at St Michael's Church. He sometimes turns up at Rock Solid and also helps out with the socials. He lives on the Kings Drive estate with his wife, Laura, and their baby son, Josh.

Trevor

Trevor works at St Michael's Church as a full-time Youth Ministry Assistant. ‘The Dog’ helps out at Rock Solid and in his spare time loves football and his girlfriend, Laura (see below!)

Chris

Chris helps out at Rock Solid, and he's also the official multimedia co-ordinator for the whole St. Mike's Youth Team! Chris lives in Stoke Gifford, and works in the centre of Bristol.

Jess

Jess is a member of the Rock Solid team, and is training to be a nurse at UWE, and lives with her family on Touchstone Drive in Stoke Gifford. She LOVES Cadbury's Freddos, so buy her some!

Laura

Laura helps out at Rock Solid. She is taking a year out after finishing her A-Levels, and lives on Fabian Drive with her family. By happy co-incidence, she likes hanging out with Trevor, too!

Jeni

Jeni, 17, is a member of Mettle, who bravely gives up her Thursday evenings to help out as a Young Leader at Rock Solid. She lives with her family in Stoke Gifford, and is currently studying for her A-Levels.

Kate

Kate is a Young Leader on the Rock Solid team, and also member of Mettle. 17-year old Kate, who lives with her mum and brother in Stoke Gifford, is currently doing her A-Levels.

Rock Solid is St Michael's Church's open youth club for 11-14s.

It runs on a Thursday evening between 7.00pm-8.30pm in the Old School Rooms, Stoke Gifford. It's free to attend, and anyone can come along … there is no membership system!

Rock Solid allows you to choose your own activities to fill the evening. You can come and chat with friends, do arts and crafts, play on the X-box, play table tennis, or take part in organised games! Also once a term we have a social!
